My Winter Purchases

We have had some great weather and riding season is just around the corner. I made a few purchases this winter to support my passion for motorcycling. The first purchase was with one of my riding friends, Luc who I have mentioned in this blog on many occasions. We went halves on Scala Rider G4 PowerSet Communicators; Luc did the research and said that this was one of the best motorcycle intercom systems available. I trust Luc's judgement, so we made the purchase.


The G4 unit mounted very nicely in my full face helmet and I look forward to trying it out, especially when touring this summer.

My second purchase was a new pair of riding boots for use with the Buell 1125R. I spent a great deal of time looking at boots online and reading reviews. After a visit to Atlantic Motoplex in Moncton, I decided that I would go with the Alpinestars SMX-5 boots. They are very comfortable, priced well and are just what I was looking for.


Just a few more weeks and I should be riding...until then, ride safe and keep your right hand cranked!

Buell 1125R Oil Change

Excellent "how to" video for completing an oil change on a Buell 1125R or 1125CR!



Changing the oil on the 1125R looks a bit messy, but it is nothing compared to my 2002 VStar 1100 Classic; I actually have to remove the front exhaust pipe on the VStar to change the oil filter...it is a real pain!

The only thing they forgot to add in this video is how to reset the service interval via the instrument cluster, that can be found in the service manual. Thanks to BuellXB.Com for posting this on YouTube.
